Vote with your brand’s voice: 3 campaigns you can support for COP26.
It’s hard not to talk about COP26. After all, it’s an incredibly important global conference that affects us all. However, we understand that it can be hard to know how you can get involved and how you can throw your brand behind the causes and campaigns that really matter. So, we’ve broken down three incredible campaigns that you can support, immediately.
1. SheChangesClimate
What: We’re calling on the COP26 leadership team to ensure an equal number of women to men at the top decision-making levels. Just 2 out of 12 people in the COP26 - UN Climate Change Conference UK Leadership team are women. Our global mission is to ensure all delegations, for all climate negotiations, have at least a 50% representation of diverse women at their top levels, now and in the future.
Who: SHEChangesClimate was founded by Antoinette Vermilye, Bianca Pitt and Elise Buckle, with the aim to bring diversity and inclusiveness, transparency and accountability to the COP negotiations on Climate Change.
How you can show your support: Check out the SheChangesClimate COP26 Digital Toolkit, and spread the word via social media this weekend. Donate to their GoFundMe campaign. In Glasgow for COP26? Join the ‘SHE Changes Climate Day: Champions of Solutions’ event on Tuesday 9th November. Catch up with progress and other ways to support via their latest Campaign Update.

2. #FoodOnPlates
What: The #FoodOnPlates campaign launched in September to stop millions of tonnes of fresh, unsold food from being wasted, when it could instead go to charities and community groups feeding families. The #FoodOnPlates campaign calls for funding of £5m a year to help farmers and food producers cover the costs of safely storing and transporting unsold food so it can be redistributed. This would enable the UK to double the amount of food delivered to those in need. Without it, 53m meals worth of food will be wasted.
Who: Spearheaded by FareShare, the UK’s largest food charity.
How you can show your support: Email your local MP, and take a look at the Campaign Pack. Be quick - the campaign ends soon!

3. Global Day of Action for Climate Justice
What: World leaders meet in Glasgow for the COP26 Global Climate Summit. On 6 November 2021, towns and cities across the world will take to the streets demanding climate justice for the Global Day of Action for Climate Justice. Hundreds of thousands of people across the world will take to the streets with over 50 demonstrations planned up and down the UK and over 75 actions and demonstrations taking place around the world. Join the COP26 Coalition for our digital global rally that will bring together voices of leading campaigners and activists across the world with speakers from the main stage in Glasgow.
Who: The COP26 Coalition is a UK-based civil society coalition of groups and individuals mobilising around climate justice during COP26. Coalition members include environment and development NGOs, trade unions, grassroots community campaigns, faith groups, youth groups, migrant and racial justice networks – to name a few. See the full list here.
How you can show your support: Read their call to action, find a local hub or action to take part in, join the digital rally, join the coalition as an organisation or an individual, and spread the word to your network!
