🖥️ FTF x Pixeled Eggs: Cutting Carbon, Boosting Performance
The internet produces approximately 1 billion tons of greenhouse gases annually, which accounts for 2-4% of overall global emissions. With an increasing number of websites added every day and rising usage, the internet’s carbon footprint has already doubled compared to a decade ago. When you consider an entire website, the cumulative impact becomes substantial.
This is especially crucial for FMCG and consumer brands because their websites can be resource-heavy with lots of media and rich content and generate a lot of traffic.
The team at Pixeled Eggs have broken down what you can do into a nifty 6-page guide:
In this guide, they share pearls of wisdom like:
How to learn about green hosting, one of the quickest ways to reduce your website’s carbon footprint.
The importance of knowing the difference between DPI, PNG, JPEG and more. Turns out, size matters.
Tools like this one, for speedy optimisation.
Evidence to show how removing auto-play videos causes a 53% increase in organic traffic to your homepage.
Best practices for you and your developers to follow, like WES-G.
How to get buy-in from your team to make these changes…
…and so much more!
